Primary Years Program
Discovery School’s teaching philosophy adheres to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), a research-driven model designed for students aged 3 to 12. PYP focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside.
The Program of Inquiry is at the heart of Primary Years Program (PYP). It is a framework guided by six transdisciplinary themes of global significance, which children explore using knowledge and skills derived from six subject areas, as well as transdisciplinary skills, with a powerful emphasis on inquiry.
This student-centered, conceptual approach encourages children to take responsibility for their own learning as they make connections among a variety of disciplines and skills.
